13 FABRIC TECHNOLOGY - PAPANGA

Course Description

Curriculum Leader: Mr K. Paterson.

Students will have the opportunity to complete standards in either Fabric Technology or Food Technology in this combined class.  

Fabric Technology

The fashion industry provides a stimulating context for students in Level 3 Fabric Technology.   

Students are required to research and investigate a wide range of factors in order to design and construct a small fashion collection to the theme of their own choosing. Conceptual design, pattern making and construction procedures are the main aspects covered in the assessments undertaken in this year long course. The course is highly suitable for those interested in study at Tertiary level in Fashion Design.  

Students interested in Scholarship will need to submit a report, which expresses how they have covered the 3 Strands of the Technology Curriculum in the creation of their Small Fashion Collection. 

Fabric technology - 18 internal assessment credits and 4 external assessment credits.
