In Year 11 Music you will continue to develop your knowledge of a range of musical styles depending on your own personal interests and that of the class. Areas of focus are around exploring music genres to develop performance and composition skills.

 Internal assessments are:

  • Using music skills in a music style. For this assessment you will develop an understanding of key components of different music styles and take an existing song and change it to fit within a different music style.
  • Demonstrate music performance skills. This assessment will require you to learn and perform an existing song with a strong focus on presenting the song with effective performance skills. This performance can be done individually or as part of a group.

The external assessment, shape music ideas to create an original composition, is completed during class time and submitted by a given deadline.

Your original songs can be recorded and released on our annual Senior Music Album, which is streamed on services such as Spotify/Apple Music. Where possible you could perform in one of our Music and Dance Showcases.

15 Level 1 credits, 10 Internal credits, 5 External credits.
